The present building traces its history back to the Scottish reformation and has recently been enhanced with a chapel dedicated to Saint Cuthbert (and a pilgrimage walk to the church which will be completed by summer 2022). The King's Own Scottish Borderers font is now housed in the church. As an A-listed building, it is recognised as being an example of all that is best in a Scottish village church, in an idyllic rural setting. It is a living church with a congregation which has grown in size every year for the last six years and which continues to use the silver communion-ware which is said to be the oldest silverware still in use in Scotland. In Person Scottish Borders Grandstand, Kelso Races Whilst John Carr of York, who also designed the grandstands at York and Doncaster, provided designs for the grandstand in 1778 the plans were not executed until 1822 when the racecourse was relocated from Caverton. In Person Scottish Borders Hawick Library Sitting on the banks of the River Teviot, Hawick Library is an impressive, well-known building and local landmark in the town of Hawick. The Library was funded by a £10000 donation from Andrew Carnegie, who opened the building on 17th May 1904. The building was designed by J N Scott and Alexander Lorne Campbell. Many original features survive both externally and internally, including memorial stained glass windows in the hallway.
