Since 1988, our church has called our Canonmills building home. Previously a penny school attended by Robert Louis Stevenson, then a mission hall and a base for the 46th Edinburgh Company of the Boy's Brigade, today the historic Canonmills building is home to our vibrant church.

Central Church

Central Church (previously Morningside Baptist Church) moved into the Methodist Central Hall at Tollcross in 2011. Since then we have operated primarily as a place of worship, and also operate a cafe during the week (Mon/Tues 10-4pm), a monthly Soul Food meal, a Clothesbank, a Counselling Service and a Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre. We have also let the building for many events over the years - conferences, weddings, concerts and other events, including hosting the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival and for many years, the American High Schools Theatre Festival.

Inch Plant Nursery is located within the stunning Inch Park on the Southside of Edinburgh. The 3/4 of an acre glasshouse is nestled within the walls of the historic kitchen garden which was once part of original Inch House estate.

Corstorphine Old Parish Church

Corstorphine Old Parish is now part of a union with Craigsbank Church, also open for Doors Open Day, and are known as Corstorphine Old and New, Church of Scotland. The main building dates from 1429, with some earlier construction, on the site of a 12th century building.

Our Sanctuary is an uplifting space and a special place with unique qualities representing the innovative design movement of the 1960’s. It is a “hidden gem” with the square plan and plain white walls enclosing the tiered worship and congregational space with its dramatic natural daylighting around the floating ceiling, a design inspired by the Covenanters worshipping in the hills south of Edinburgh.

Cramond Heritage Trust

The Maltings is a permanent Exhibition Centre displaying the extensive history of Cramond throughout the ages from Mesolithic Cramond to modern suburbia. We also hold an extensive archive section of documents, images and some artifacts. Cramond Heritage Trust is a volunteer based group of people who keep the centre open to the public during the summer season and service the archives.

The name Cramond comes from Caer Amon, the fort on the River Almond. This was the Roman fort, some of whose foundations are visible and others marked. The area also contains remains from the two World Wars particularly round the island and there was once a passenger ferry across the Almond to the Dalmeny Estate. Cramond was included in Edinburgh in the expansion of 1920.

Custom House - Scottish Historic Buildings Trust

The grand Georgian Custom House has dominated Leith’s Shore for two centuries. Completed in 1812, the building retained its original use until 1980 when it became a museum store, before being saved for the city when the Council stepped in to buy it in 2015, with the goal that it would become home to a museum for Leith. Scottish Historic Buildings Trust was tasked with giving the building life whilst also developing the plans for its future use as a cultural and heritage venue. As work picks up pace for its restoration and transformation in the coming years, it has become a thriving hub for the creative industries in Leith.

Dar Al-Arqam Mosque

The Dar al-Arqam Mosque was originally home to Lauriston Church and was designed by Archibald Scott in 1859 for the United Presbyterian Church. Visitors can observe how the church has been converted into a mosque while maintaining the original beauty of the building.
