Old Parish & St Pauls Church

Scottish Borders

In Person

St Paul's Church was opened for worship in November 1881. The land was acquired from the Policies of the Laird of Gala in Scott Crescent, and the plans were drawn up by Mr Hay (of Hay and Henderson Architects in Edinburgh) in 1875. The porch and suite of halls were added in the 1920s as a memorial to those who dies in World War I. The organ used is a 'Father' Willis.

Visitors will be able to enjoy some free refreshments and look around the building. There will be information available on the history of the church and on the Christian faith. Volunteers will be happy to greet you and answer your questions. All welcome.

Trinity Church will also be open on the same day as part of Doors Open Day. Please see separate listing for details.
