Hawick CARS - Traditional Skills Demonstration

Scottish Borders

In Person

Hawick Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) is a partnership project developed with a community-based steering group and funded by Historic Environment Scotland, South of Scotland Enterprise and Scottish Borders Council. It aims to support the repair of traditional (pre-1919) buildings within an area of the town centre. It offers grants to property owners to undertake sensitive conservation repair, and training in traditional skills. Launched in 2019 it will run until March 2025.

For Doors Open Days join the Hawick Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) project and Build Your Future in the centre of Hawick for a live demonstration of traditional building repair skills. Learn about the skills that are needed to keep buildings in good repair - and even have a go yourself!

You can also chat to the Hawick CARS team to find out about upcoming events and grants available for repair works to traditional buildings within the Hawick CARS boundary.
