2026 Theme
Learn about how the church was once considered a Heritage Risk and how essential stone-by-stone remortaring by professional conservationists prevented the walls of the west Chapel from falling. Volunteers will be on hand to greet visitors and share the remarkable story of St. Columba's church and graveyeard. There will also be displays of how the Urras resisted the extreme weather on Lewis and erosion by the sea through essential coastal protection work, thereby protecting an important heritage site on the Isle of Lewis.
