Kinloch Historical Society
Outer Hebrides / Na h-Eileanan Siar
The Kinloch Historical Society will provide FREE entry into our museum on Saturday 05 September from 10am–4pm. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history, heritage and culture of the area through engagement with our open exhibitions, digital boards and knowledgeable staff. Our exhibitions include: social history, emigration, land wars, Seaforth Highlanders, archaeology, and The Arnish Moor Man.
Our special exhibition, Abhainn Lacasaidh, looks at the biodiversity and history surrounding the Laxay River through the use of Eco-Cultural mapping. This links to the Doors Open Days 2026 theme - 'Heritage at Risk – Revive, Resist, Reimagine' - by exploring how our use of the land has changed over the years, and its impact on our native species.
