Visitors will have the opportunity to admire the Neo-Gothic architectural beauty of the Church including the very detailed and inspiring stained glass windows of which there are many.

The St Laurence building is one of the many Church of Scotland Churches identified to be sold and was purchased by the St Laurence Forres Trust in March 2026 to be used as a place to hold events, host meetings and civic gatherings to meet the needs of the Community.  The Trust now work hard to create an income that will cover maintenance, development and running costs. 

The Trust is looking at ways to maintain its heritage while exploring sensitive developments that will enhance its use and long-term sustainability. This approach reflects the 2026 Doors Open Days theme 'Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine' by reviving and preserving an important cultural asset, resisting the risk of decline through active stewardship, and reimagining its future through sustainable uses that respect and celebrate its historic significance for generations to come.

Leaflets will be available for visitors which provide information on the history of the building, internal artefacts and stained glass windows. Stewards will be on hand to answer any questions.  

A variety of music will be played throughout the course of the day featuring a range of different musicians. Refreshments and home bakes will be on sale.

Additional Access Information

There is no lift, the upstairs is not accessible for those with reduced mobility or wheelchair users. 

Water bottles can be refilled. 

There will be quiet intervals and an area which offers a quieter space when music is being played.

There is very limited parking on grounds but free car parking is available close by.
