Kinloss Abbey & Abbot's House

Founded in 1150, Kinloss Abbey is the largest Cistercian Abbey in the North of Scotland and stands in a picturesque setting approximately 3 miles East of Forres. The normally inaccessible Abbot’s House and Sacristy will be unlocked on Doors Open Day – don’t miss this opportunity to have a peek inside!
Two or three Trustees will be on site throughout to provide directions and answer questions.

There are 3 Historic Scotland information boards as well as 2 general information boards, which are comprehensive.

There is a water tap by the gate. Parking is limited and local street parking is 100m from the site.
Walking surfaces are grassy and stony in parts.
No seating available but many resting places on flat stones.
There is a place to shelter from the weather if required.
