Elgin Museum
Moray
In celebration of Doors Open Days and inspired by the work of Sir George Reid RSA in our collection, we’ll create a series of observational sketches of Elgin Museum and its collections. If the weather is good, we’ll start outside, drawing different external elements of the building. Then inside, we explore different architectural details and artefacts.
Known mainly for being a portrait painter, George Reid was also noted for his black and white (monochrome) works, using pen & ink and watercolours sketches.
This event is also being run as part of the RSA200: Celebrating Together, a year of events celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Scottish Academy.
