In Person East Dunbartonshire Auld Kirk Museum: A walk to the Foundry Collection Store The Auld Kirk was built in 1644 as a replacement for the old parish church of St Ninian’s at the Old Aisle. Burials around the Auld Kirk continued until the middle of the nineteenth century. The building and graveyard are Grade A listed and together form one of the finest and oldest sites in the town of Kirkintilloch. The museum housed within this building has a variety of objects primarily related to the social and industrial history of East Dunbartonshire, as well as a varied programme of temporary exhibitions. In Person East Dunbartonshire Gavin's Mill Gavin’s Mill is one of the oldest buildings in Milngavie, dating from at least the 16th century. Powered by the Allander Water, it operated as a grain mill and latterly a sawmill until about 1960 when a fire gutted the interior. It was bought and reconstructed by architect Bert Morris and functioned as an office and restaurant until 2014.
