Stirling's Central Library is a testimony to the generosity of the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie and to the persistence of Provost George Kinross.

This Scots Renaissance style building dates from1904 and was the first free library in Stirling. It is a Category B Listed Building and is not the first building Carnegie had contributed towards in the Stirling area.

Pre-book one of the guided tours of the library, including the areas not usually seen by the public, with refreshments afterwards

Booking is essential as the library will be open by admission only. Tours at 10am and 12 noon.

There is a flight of stairs into the building and the tour requires another couple of flights of stairs within the building.
