The Coptic Orthodox Church is one of the world's oldest Christian churches, founded in Egypt by Saint Mark the Apostle nearly 2,000 years ago. Rooted in a rich spiritual heritage, it has remained steadfast through centuries of persecution, emerging stronger and continuing to grow across the world. For more than 40 years, Saint Mary and Saint Michael's Coptic Orthodox Church has served the West of Scotland. Today, it continues to be a welcoming place of worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Coptic Orthodox Church is delighted to open its doors to the local community, offering a unique opportunity to discover its rich history, ancient traditions, and vibrant faith.
The day will include a short introductory talk about the Coptic Orthodox Church, followed by guided tours of the church building. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the symbolism, architecture, and worship of one of the world's oldest Christian traditions, while meeting members of the local congregation in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Tours will run every ten minutes both days.
