East Kilbride Old Parish Church
South Lanarkshire
In Person
The current church and graveyard date back to 1774 though there has been a church on the site since the 1170s. The graveyard gives fascinating insights into the lives of past church members and locals, not to mention the intriguing ways of engraving and decorating gravestones. The clock mechanism can be seen in the bell tower. A distinctive two-part mural adorns the Lower Hall wall, painted in 2007 by Edward Marle and Vince Clark.
For Doors Open Days there will be guided tours (as requested) by members of the congregation and heritage group who will take visitors around the church and graveyard.
