We are a community growing space offering plots for annual rental, where individuals and families can grow their own fruits and vegetables. Our project is rooted in promoting organic practices and sustainable gardening, providing hands-on opportunities for people to learn how to cultivate food in an environmentally responsible way.

We aim to build skills, confidence, and community by educating participants in seasonal growing, soil health, composting, and biodiversity-friendly methods. Whether someone is a beginner or has experience, our space supports learning, sharing knowledge, and reconnecting with nature through food growing.

Each year, we host a vibrant Gala Day to bring the community together and celebrate the growing season. The event features a BBQ, live ukulele music, and a range of activities for all ages, including children’s arts and crafts.

Visitors can browse a selection of plants and freshly grown produce, all available on a donation basis, along with home baking and refreshments including hot and cold drinks. There’s also a popular tombola, adding a bit of fun and fundraising to the day.

Our Gala Day is a welcoming, family-friendly event that showcases what we do, encourages community involvement, and celebrates sustainable growing in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Additional Access Information

Broadloan Gardens is an outdoor venue with level access from the entrance gate. Most of the main paths are gravel, Monoblock or grass growing on top of gravelled areas and may be uneven in places, which could pose some difficulty for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, particularly in wet weather. There is seating available throughout the site, and toilet facilities (portaloo) are available nearby on-site. We will have volunteers on hand to assist visitors as needed.
