Johnstone Textile Space

5 September 2026 (10:00 - 16:00)

Renfrewshire

In Person
2026 Theme

Johnstone has a rich weaving history, once home to many thriving textile factories. To celebrate this heritage, we will be facilitating yarn spinning and weaving workshops.

For the proposed theme of Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine, we will host a beginner friendly weaving workshop to celebrate the rich textile history of Johnstone.

In the 2 hour workshop, participants will learn the basics of weaving on a frame loom using a wide selection of yarns. Participants will be able to take their loom home to continue practicing their new weaving skills.

Our beginner-friendly weaving workshop celebrates Johnstone’s rich weaving history. By learning these traditional skills, participants can help keep this heritage alive while exploring their own creativity and innovation.

Please note that the workshop will be from 12 PM to 2 PM, are bookable, and have to be prebooked in advance.
