All Hallow's Graveyard is all that remains at the site of All Hallow's Church, demolished in 1968, There had been a structure and shrine at the site since the 6th century and several "Govan School" carved stones are associated with the area hinting of it's importance in the medieval Kingdom of Strathclyde. The Graveyard contains many interesting gravestones highlighting the families and occupations of bygone Inchinnan and Renfrew.
This site is usually closed to the public but Inchinnan Historical Interest Group (IHIG) will open the Graveyard and remain on-site as guides.
IHIG volunteers will provide information and descriptions of the local history of this area of Renfrewshire. From Bronze Age settlements, the medieval Kingdom of Strathclyde to the more recent agricultural and industrial past. We have a guide to some of the gravestones within the graveyard, detailing farmers, doctors, blacksmiths and local landowners; the Campbells of Blythswood.
Facilities
Additional Access Information
This is an outdoor venue with no shelter. Surfaces are grassy, uneven and slippery after rain. Dress appropriately.
