St John's Kirk of Perth
Perth & Kinross
In Person
A church has stood on this site since the early 12th century, giving rise to Perth’s alternative name “St. Johnstoun". In May 1959 John Knox preached his famous sermon here. Sir Robert Lorimer was responsible for restoration in 1926 and further restoration works have recently been completed with more waiting to be done. The Kirk has the largest collection of bells in the country and some stunning stained glass windows.
For Doors Open Days there will be guided tours from 12 noon onwards.
