St Magnus Cathedral is a magnificent 12th century church built during Orkney’s Viking Age. Made from red and yellow sandstone, it is still a working church, and is the spiritual heart of Kirkwall and the whole of Orkney.
At various points during Saturday 19 September, Cathedral and City Organist Michael Mappin will be playing the organ.
Times are:
1200-1230
1400-1430
1600-1630
In addition, from 1300-1400 Michael will be supervising a ‘try the organ’ session, inviting visitors to try the organ for a few minutes.
