Skelmorlie & Wemyss Bay Church

On 1st January 2024 Inverkip, Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay became a Union with two church buildings. The original church was built in 1856 - now the church hall, and in 1893 a new church was commissioned. This new church was designed by Glasgow architect John Honeyman. He employed Charles Rennie Mackintosh who made the inside staircase and designed the pulpit. The lamp which graces the main entrance is also attributed to Mackintosh.
For Doors Open Days artefacts and information about the church building, windows and carvings will be available. Tea and coffee provided.
