Lauriston Castle

New

27 September 2026 (12:00 - 14:30)

Edinburgh

In Person

Set among beautiful gardens and with stunning views across the Firth of Forth, Lauriston Castle is a 16th century tower house with 19th Century extensions, and early 20th century interiors. Today, the house and grounds offer a peaceful retreat from busy modern life, and house a group of diverse and fascinating collections bequeathed to the city by the Castle’s last residents.

To celebrate Doors Open Day 2026, Lauriston Castle will open its doors for you to wander through some of the rooms containing the wonderful collection of furniture, prints and object d’art left to the nation by the final private owners, Mr & Mrs Reid in 1926. Marking the centenary of this wonderful gift to the nation, step into this unique time capsule and be whisked back to the beginning of the 20th Century, to see what life was like for a well to do, self-made middle-class couple in Edinburgh.
