Edinburgh
A Gothic Revival church dating from 1864 by Frederick Thomas Pilkington with a soaring landmark spire, richly detailed stonework, a distinctive heart-shaped interior, galleries, painted ceiling, impressive pulpit, organ and warm, theatrical interior space.
Visitors will be welcomed by volunteers who will show them round the building, answering questions and giving some of the history. Self-guided information will also be available.
We hope to have musical moments throughout the day subject to availability showcasing the organ and piano. There will also be craft displays to view that we use inside and outside the building.
As a multigenerational church, families are welcome, with children’s activities available.
There will be short guided tours during the day, self-guided information points, a display on the history of the building and congregation, and opportunities to hear about the ongoing life of the church as a worshipping and community space.
