St Margaret's Episcopal Church, Tayport

East Fife

In Person

St Margaret’s is a picturesque building of buttressed red brick, designed in late Victorian Gothic style by Dundee architect Thomas Martin Cappon in 1896. Its vaulted interior features extensive use of timber, and intricate window tracery.

A late 19th century Estey reed organ is still in regular use. The font was made by local craftsman Gilbert Atkinson, who also made two crosses from historic timber. There are several interesting memorials, including a Pascal Candle stand made by John (Jacky) Cooper and one to six altar boys who lost their lives in active service in the Second World War.

The church will open to the public at 1.00 p.m. but a Service will be held at 09.30 and all are welcome to attend.
