Dundee Central Mosque
Dundee
Dundee Central Mosque is the first purpose built mosque in the North-East of Scotland, designed and built to face Mecca to the south-east.
This beautiful landmark building, with its distinctive copper domes and traditional Islamic architectural features, serves as both a place of worship and a community hub promoting faith, education and community engagement.
As the first purpose-built mosque in north-east Scotland, Dundee Central Mosque preserves and shares an important part of Dundee's diverse heritage. By welcoming visitors and encouraging understanding between communities, the event highlights the continuing relevance of the city's Muslim heritage and its contribution to contemporary Scottish life.
Visitors will be welcomed and shown the various aspects of the building. Volunteers will explain the mosque's architecture, its role in the local community, and aspects of Islamic faith and practice. Visitors will have the opportunity to view displays, ask questions, and learn about Dundeeās Muslim community in a friendly and informal setting.
There will be guided tours every hour.
