Theatre Royal Dumfries
Dumfries and Galloway
For Doors Open 2026, we are embracing the theme Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine through the redevelopment of our Heritage Foyer, celebrating the rich history of the theatre and the Guild of Players. The project seeks to revive the stories, people, and performances that have shaped our organisation over the decades, bringing them to life through display boards, a visual timeline, a photo-op heritage painting, archival photographs, and much more.
As part of Doors Open Day, visitors are invited to explore our heritage foyer, showcasing highlights from decades of theatrical history. Learn about the Guild’s longstanding connection with the theatre and how members have helped bring countless productions to life.
Throughout the day, members of the Guild of Players will be on hand to welcome guests, share personal stories, and offer insight into the many behind-the scenes roles involved in staging a performance, from set design to stage management.
