We are a private Museum manned by over 50 volunteers. We have been going since 1978 in the former Church of St. John’s a ‘B’ listed building, which makes for an interesting visit. Also, we run an Outreach programme reaching out to the local school’s and groups with talks and demonstrations of artefacts.
For Doors Open Days we will be telling the story of Newton Stewart Railway, highlighting out new aquisitions and celebrating local school children's poems from their visit to the museum.
