All Saints Church, Challoch

5 September 2026 (10:00 - 16:00)

Dumfries and Galloway

In Person
2026 Theme

All Saints Episcopal Church was originally built as a private chapel for the family of Edward Stopford Blair of Penninhame House who bequeathed it to the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway. The foundation stone of the Church was laid on the 16th November 1871, and the church was consecrated within the octave of All Saints’ on 8th November 1872. The church was designed by the architects, Habbershon & Pate of Bloomsbury, London, and is said to be one of the best examples in Scotland of a small Victorian church; both the church and the rectory mansion (now in private ownership) are listed buildings, the church being Grade ‘A’.

For Doors Open Days our church building will be open during this time for people to explore and appreciate. Guide materials will be available and guides will be on hand to show visitors around the building.

There will be a Choral Evensong at around 4pm.
