Menstrie Community Gardens were established over twenty years ago on derelict land which was once used as the ‘drying greens’ for flats within Menstrie Castle when they were owned and let by Clackmannanshire Council. The community took over responsibility for the area and established the gardens, most of the wood and soil coming from the old Council nursery at Glenochil Nursery. There is now a flourishing team of volunteers who tend the garden, growing vegetables and fruit for distribution to residents nearby.
