Come and see the largest collection of Pictish carvings anywhere - still in the place they were made over 1,500 years ago !
Perched on a stunning stretch of Fife coastline with sweeping views across the Firth of Forth, these remarkable caves hold over 50 ancient symbols, mysterious animal figures, an early medieval boat, and crosses left by the very first Christian missionaries to walk this land. Above it all loom the dramatic ruins of medieval Macduff Castle, once home to the Earls of Fife.

Additional Access Information
The museum at the Terras Hall is now ramped and has accessible features and by DOD 2026 our garden will also have step free access.
The first two caves on our tour are wheelchair accessible, though please be aware that the route follows a coastal path with some uneven ground.
Street Parking
Please note that there is no on-site parking in The Haugh, which is a cul-de-sac and highly unsuitable for visitor traffic. Please park instead in the public areas on Main Street or Back Dykes, from where it is a three minute walk to the Visitor Centre. We can however arrange disabled parking at the Visitor Centre on request.
