Visit the oldest building still in use in Kirkcaldy and browse our exhibitions on the history of the church and town and enter the world of virtual reality in our fascinating interactive digital display.

Marvel at our stained glass windows by Burne-Jones and William Morris, John Clark and Crear McCartney.

Climb the 15th century tower for the fine panoramic view from the parapet and trace the history of Kirkcaldy laid out before you. Ring the bell, first cast in 1553, and heard in 1723 by Adam Smith at his baptism in the church. If you cannot manage the tower stairs view it digitally on our screen or wander through the Kirk in our digital world of 1500. Digital tours are also available on our website.

Tour the graveyard and witness a re-enactment of the last fatal duel in Scotland 200 years ago, and hear the stories of the two combatants.

Teas and coffee will be available for a small donation and there will be a quiz around the church for children.

Kirkcaldy Old Kirk is now owned by a local Trust who are maintaining it as a community venue and heritage centre. You will meet some of its volunteer members in the Kirk as guides.

Tower Tours (limited space) from 1030 every hour on the half hour.

"Adam Smith’s Kirkcaldy" : Saturday 1pm – 2.30pm A guided walk around the historic town centre.

There are limited spaces on the tours so booking is advised either by e-mail or via the website.

Additional Access Information

N.B. vehicular access for wheelchair users is via Church Lane, and there is limited parking for disabled drivers within the churchyard. A large public car park is available in Oswald Wynd at the entrance of the approach drive.

There are comfortable seats throughout but the tower is not wheelchair accessible, and baby changing facilities are available.
