Step inside the local HM Coastguard Rescue Station and discover how volunteer Coastguard teams respond to emergencies along our coastline. From cliff rescues and water incidents to searches for missing people, the Coastguard plays a vital role in keeping coastal communities safe.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet members of the volunteer rescue team and learn more about their work, specialist capabilities and the area they cover. Rescue vehicles, communications equipment and specialist rescue gear will be on display, providing a fascinating insight into the skills and resources used during real-life incidents.
Throughout the day, the team will be available to explain how Coastguard operations work and what is involved in responding to emergencies at sea and along the shore. A warm welcome awaits visitors of all ages.
