In Person

Housed within the beautifully restored Carriage and Wagon Workshop of the former Inverurie Locomotive Works, the Garioch Heritage Centre brings new life to one of the area's most important historic industrial buildings. Following the closure of the Locomotive Works in 1969, the building has been transformed into a vibrant heritage centre and home to the collections of the Garioch Heritage Society.

The centre tells the story of life in the Garioch from the early 20th century to the present day, exploring both the domestic and working lives of local people. Through displays, artefacts and photographs, visitors can discover the area's rich social, industrial and community history.

In addition to the exhibitions, visitors can research local history in the centre's library and browse the Society's extensive collection of photographs and archive material. A café, gift shop and activities for younger visitors make the centre an enjoyable destination for all ages.

Come and visit the Garioch Heritage Centre and gain a fascinating insight into the people, places and stories that have shaped the Garioch.
