Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust

The Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust was established in 2007 to take over the remaining building and turntable of the former Ferryhill locomotive depot, restore it and transform the site into a working railway heritage site for the North East of Scotland. In this endeavour, the Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust has had widespread support.
Ferryhill is the site of Aberdeen’s original railway station, going back over 100 years. The former Ferryhill Depot is the site of the Ransome and Rapier turntable, restored in 2019, still being used to turn visiting steam engines. The Trust also have the restored 1855 original engine shed, which is a functioning workshop. This shed holds several waggons under restoration. Their latest completed project is the former office building, containing a small museum and adjacent water tower. FRHT are a Volunteer run Charity.
Tours will be given based on demand and commence by the office portacabin.
