Augustine is a diverse, progressive Christian congregation of the United Reformed Church, with a rich history of global connections. Our four-storey building rises up from the Cowgate towards an elaborate tower that earned the church the nickname of “the bridecake” when it was opened in 1861.
Our building will be open on Saturday 25th, 10am - 5pm, and Sunday 26th, 2 - 5pm. The sanctuary will be available for viewing together with our heritage exhibition and our audio-visual resources. Light refreshments will also be available for those who need a pick-me-up!
This Doors Open Days weekend we are offering the opportunity to join one of our brand-new urban pilgrimages. Herstory explores the streets around Augustine and includes pauses for social and biblical reflection inspired by extraordinary women, past and present. What have their lives meant to our city? How do they challenge our perceptions, values and spirituality?
