The doors may have closed on #DigiDoorsOpen this year, but that doesn't mean that the fun has to stop! Each week we will be creating a themed roundup of our digital resources so that you can enjoy a virtual day out from home.
This week's theme is Scottish libraries in honour of international #StressAwarenessWeek! Disappear into a good book with Elspeth, Lara and John. Leaf through botanical specimens, meet with the Keeper of Books and learn about how working class miners made time for reading.

Herbarium and Library- Royal Botanic Gardens: Boasting 3 million preserved plant specimens, you can explore the whole world from one room at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Each of their specimens marks a point in space and time, yet there is so much still to be learned from their vast collection.
Perth and Kinross
Innerpeffray Library: Join Lara, the Keeper of Books, at Scotland's oldest free public lending library as she shows us her favourite book from their collection. The pages hold clues that that allows us to uncover the original owner of the book, who was none other than the founder himself!
South Lanarkshire
Leadhills Miner's Library: Built by the miners themselves, this library stands today as a testament to their thirst for knowledge. When they weren't hard at work in the pit, the miners would take time to read one of the books from this considerable and diverse collection.
