The doors may have closed on #DigiDoorsOpen this year, but that doesn't mean that the fun has to stop! Each week we will be creating a themed roundup of our digital resources so that you can enjoy a virtual day out from home.
This week's theme is Scottish walks! You can enjoy these walks from your sofa using our virtual tours and audio trails or if you want to stretch your legs you can also take the walk yourself (weather permitting!)
Footsteps Through Fraserburgh: Take a tour of the historic buildings and environment of Fraserburgh through this detailed virtual walk. The virtual walk concentrates on key buildings and structures in the history of the Broch – from Kinnaird Head Lighthouse and Castle, the harbour, churches, Saltoun Square, Warld’s End – even pausing to consider the Victorian sewage system.
Glasgow City Centre Mural Trail: Explore Glasgow's vibrant city centre through this audio trail. Glasgow's murals create splashes of colour, brighten the urban landscape and have become increasingly popular with residents, local businesses and visitors to the city centre. Notable highlights include the Hip Hop Marionettes, the Glasgow Tiger, the Spaceman, and our Fellow Glasgow Residents.
The Whithorn Way: Travel back in time and walk in the footsteps of pilgrims through villages and coastlines. The Whithorn Way is a pilgrim route which travels from Glasgow to Whithorn. For digital Doors Open Days, you can virtually walk the Whithorn Way via a video that features 3D reconstructions of some of the stunning churches and monasteries along the pilgrimage route.
Tune in next week for our next instalment of #DigiDoorsOpenRoundup!
