Bridgend Farmhouse, Edinburgh (26 September)
Bridgend Farmhouse welcomes visitors to explore its unique history and thriving community during this year's Doors Open Days festival.
Once a city farm serving the south side of Edinburgh until the year 2000, Bridgend Farmhouse is now an independent community centre offering a wide range of training opportunities in kitchen and café work, gardening, arts and crafts, woodwork, and bike maintenance. The centre also hosts a busy programme of community events throughout the year.
Visitors joining Doors Open Days on Saturday 26 September, between 11am and 3pm, can experience one of Bridgend Farmhouse's popular Fair Days, where home-produced food, jams, plants and crafts will be available to purchase. The day will also feature live music, children's games, apple pressing and an art exhibition.
Guests are also invited to take a tour of the historic 18th-century farmhouse, as well as the workshops, bothy and gardens that have been added over the past eight years.
