Just off Queensferry’s busy High Street, the Vennel Churchyard is found next to the Old Parish Church. 17th, 18th and 19th century headstones reveal local history, including sea captains’ beneath two distinctive 17th century table stones. ‘Bee boles’ can also be seen in which straw beehives, or ‘skeps’, were kept. Adjacent to the Churchyard is one of Scotland’s earliest examples of a school building, but now Queensferry’s Masonic Hall. Visitors will have the opportunity to see inside Lodge
Access through the Masonic Hall.
