11 South Charlotte Street, built ensuite with No 15 South Charlotte Street, is a significant surviving part of the original fabric of Edinburgh's New Town, one of the most important and best-preserved examples of urban planning in Britain. South Charlotte Street is also important for its contribution to the setting of Charlotte Square.  Built c. 1790, the ground floor apartments of this former classical tenement have been re-appropriated as a design studio for HarrisonStevens Landscape Architects.
