Clackmannan Heritage Trail Walks

New
Door open days

23 September 2017 (Guided Walks at 11am and 2pm)

Clackmannanshire

Clackmannan was once the county town, where the Sheriff Court was held and where the Tolbooth was built in 1592. To mark the full launch of the Clackmannan Heritage Trail  there will be two walks, the Tower Walk and the Town Walk, around this historic town. Led by members of Clackmannan Development Trust, the walks will look at the Stone of Mannan, the Mercat Cross, the remains of the Tolbooth, Clackmannan Tower and other important buildings and sites which help to tell the story of the town from which the county take its name.

The guided walks will start from Clackmannan Tolbooth, near the top of Main Street. They will be partly suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Outdoor clothing and sensible footwear are essential, especially in case of bad weather.

Booking is not required.

Clackmannan Town Hall will be open for visitors after the walks. Light refreshments will be available.
