The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a Christian church with over 17 million members globally. Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith and we believe that He is the Son of God and Saviour of the world. The local congregation has been meeting in the Lothians since May 1851 with venues including the old Labour Hall at the bottom of High Street and the Woodburn Community Centre.
On Doors Open Day, visitors can explore our building, learn about our beliefs and start tracing their own family history. There will be displays throughout the building featuring our interests in education, employment, self reliance and the importance of family. Visitors will be able to access FamilySearch, which is the largest genealogical society in the world with access to millions of genealogical records globally.
Members of the church will be available to guide visitors around the building, but visitors are also welcome to explore by themselves.
