Bishopbriggs Library

East Dunbartonshire

In Person

Bishopbriggs Library is a former Victorian school building situated in the centre of Bishopbriggs. The building was fully refurbished as a library and community hub in 2018 and includes a multipurpose room and meeting spaces. The library has a Thomas Muir exhibition and local history section.

Enjoy a talk from Carol Primrose about the nearby Cawder Estate and its mansion Cawder House, noting the Roman remains, the early medieval history, both religious and political, the turbulent wars of independence and then the Jacobite uprisings, and the gracious living of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, marked by wars and golf. No booking required.
