We have a small Moonshine village watched over by angels, and when you sit in the distillery near to the stills you are in the heart of it all. Everything we do is by hand and our facility is sustainable and has award-winning toilets.

Angus Archives serves as the ANGUSalive repository dedicated to preserving the public records of the former Angus burghs (Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Montrose, and Monifieth), Angus County Council, as well as private papers and photographs of various kinds. Specialising in family history, house history, and local history, Angus Archives providing expert assistance for all research purposes. The archive frequently organises events, both onsite and throughout the County of Angus.

Arbroath Royal Observer Corps Post Museum

This museum is a relic of the Cold War when the volunteers of the former Royal Observer Corps trained to monitor instruments would alert the public and transmit vital readings to their Headquarters in Dundee should a nuclear attack have taken place.

Balmashanner War Memorial

The monument on Balmashanner Hill, known locally as “Bummie”, was built in 1920/1, in memory of the men of Forfar and District who fell in the Great War 1914-18’. A plaque above the entrance reads ‘Their name liveth for evermore'.

Davidson Legacy Cottage

The Davidson family, founders of the world-famous Harley-Davidson Motor Company®, has its roots in the tiny village of Aberlemno near the small market town of Brechin in Angus. The Davidson Legacy Cottage is a step back in time to a period of no running water, no inside toilet or fully fitted kitchen. Today it stands restored and fully furnished as the home that the Davidson family would recognise if ever they returned. In the kitchen, the old range is up and working, ready to cook broth and oatcakes to feed a hungry family. The old box bed in the corner is ready to sleep in.

Friockheim Community Volunteers Lock Up

Friockheim Park Community Volunteers is a small community group who host an accredited information point with Visit Scotland (iKnow). Our community building acts as a meeting place for the public, visitors and our volunteers who carry out works at Friockheim Park, the public toilets and in and around the village. The building dates back to its original brickwork and has a mural in the back wall.
