Sandhaven Meal Mill

Sandhaven Meal Mill is a fine example of an early 19th century rectangular mill and kiln. The mill is unique in that all the machinery survives including the electric motor that powered the mill in its last years. It also has a built-in hinged top desk that was used by the miller.
Visitors will be treated to an exhibition of farming and fishing lives over the years, including guided tours by the mill curator. This is a fascinating way to learn how oatmeal used to be ground in this typical Scottish meal mill. Guided tours will be provided, there is also a seating area where a DVD of the mill will be shown for those who are unable to access all 3 floors.
