Interested in taking your Doors Open Days event digital this September? We've compiled a host of ideas, tutorials and workshops to help you make virtual tours, webinars and more.

This guide includes how-to guides for popular platforms and media types, our recommendations for venues taking Doors Open Days digital, and some additional examples of creative digital engagement from U.K. venues. This guide was prepared by Chloe Waterhouse and Liv Gardener, as part of a placement with the Scottish Civic Trust for the ‘Methodology of Art with Work Placement’ Junior Honours course in the School of Culture and Creative Arts, University of Glasgow 2020-21.
This short guide, created by our web developers at I-Finity associates, shows you how to make images and videos of Powerpoint presentations, which can be uploaded as your digital Doors Open Days offering. The guide then takes you through how to upload this content - either on LinkedIn, YouTube or Vimeo.
This document takes you through ideas for creating digital content for a DOD2020 venue, The Forties House. The ideas and resources shared in this document could be applied to any venue, and this is a helpful source of information for any venue thinking about how best to compile and deliver a digital resource.
In response to the impact of Covid-19, CUPIDO European Interreg cultural heritage project collaborated with XpoNorth Heritage to hold a programme of eight online digital skills workshops aimed at the Heritage sector and facilitated by Dr Alan Miller and Catherine Anne Cassidy, from the Open Virtual Worlds Group at the University of St Andrews.
The workshops were designed to help heritage organisations develop the skills to connect with existing and potential new audiences through digital media, covering topics such as digitising collections, photogrammetry, working with phones and commodity cameras to create 360 degree images and videos.
We've drafted a guide for popular social media platforms, which outlines the key aspects to consider when getting started with social media and creating a social media strategy. Social media is another great way to increase your digital engagement with audiences, both during Doors Open Days and beyond!
