Inverness Creative Academy

Door open days

5 September 2020 (3-4 pm)

Highland - Inverness & surrounding area

6th year geography class, 1960

Wasps’ Inverness Creative Academy will transform two beautiful B-listed former school buildings on the Inverness Royal Academy site into the largest creative facility in the Highlands for artists, designers, makers, creative industries, arts organisations and cultural social enterprises.

Phase 1, in the restored 1913 Arts & Science Extension, is complete and now home to 36 visual artists and makers based in the Highlands, and 3 creative learning organisations.  It currently houses frequent and varied exhibitions in the refurbished gym hall and a mixed workshop and events programme in the smaller creative spaces.

Midmills Virtual Assembly: Online discussion chaired by Charles Bannerman

Come join our virtual assembly as part of Doors Open Day 2020.

Wasps’ Inverness Creative Academy are delighted to present an online discussion from 3-4pm with past pupils from Inverness Royal Academy during it’s period at Midmills.

The discussion will be chaired by former pupil and teacher Charles Bannerman who has written four books about the school’s history at Midmills. This year the building celebrated its 125th anniversary, since opening as Inverness Royal Academy in 1895 and this event will include personal reminiscence about the school’s key characters, memorable classes and antics from the 1950s – 1970s.

You can also watch the live stream on the Inverness Creative Academy Facebook page:
