The Scottish Genealogy Society

Door open days

Founded in 1953, the Society moved into 15 Victoria Terrace in 1991. The internal walls of the property are from two phases of building vaulted arches dating from c. 1830-40 and the cellars of tenements on Johnston Terrace in 1868-9. It has been used as an ARP centre during WWII and then occupied by a confectionery manufacturer, a scientific equipment supplier, a pottery & printmaking studio, a restaurant and then home to the Scottish Genealogy Society. There will be a continuous-running video presentation on how to start your family history.
