The Scottish National Gallery comprises the Gallery Building and the Academy Building, both designed by William Henry Playfair in the mid-19th Century. Situated in the Gallery Building, the Prints & Drawings Study Room and Research Library houses an unrivalled collection of works on paper and an extensive library, and is usually open only by appointment. There will be regular talks throughout the day. Free but ticketed – see website for details
