The Scottish National Gallery comprises the Gallery Building and the Academy Building, both designed by William Henry Playfair in the mid-19th Century. Situated in the Gallery Building, the Prints & Drawings Study Room and Research Library houses an unrivalled collection of works on paper and an extensive library, and is usually open only by appointment.
