Registers of Scotland is the non-ministerial government department responsible for compiling and maintaining 18 public registers. These relate to land, property, and other legal documents. 2017 is a landmark year for ROS - we're celebrating the 400th anniversary of the world's oldest national land register, the General Register of Sasines. Join us for “A Journey Through Time” and witness the ancient Sasine ceremony, view our spectacular map of Scotland and take a moment to learn about the Great Seal. Key features of Edinburgh's New Town will be linked to our 400th celebration. Our searchers will be on hand to look up any properties in the New Town.
