Category B-listed medieval walled garden that once belonged to Granton's lost castle This relatively unknown gem is hidden in the most unexpected of places with occupancy dating back to 1165 and William the Lion. Famous residents who have enjoyed the Walled Garden's tranquillity include Sir Thomas Hope in the early 1600's and Lord Cockburn's family in the early 1800's. Granton Castle may be gone but its two acre walled garden survived through many centuries of change thanks to its fertility and the unique microclimate created by its high stone walls. Booking in advance is essential.
