Gin tasting event featuring the fabulous Dundee Gin. A distinctive architectural gem built in 1836 in a late Georgian style with Greek and Egyptian design elements. On the RCAHMS Threatened Buildings Survey in 2009 it has been handsomely restored to its former glory. This curious house was built by George Duncan MP in memory of his late wife, Hester Eliza Wheeler, whose childhood home was The Vyne in Hampshire. He intended it to show off his extensive collection of paintings and objects of which he bequeathed to the city. You will have the opportunity to view the ornate hall and former drawing room and learn something of the houses remarkable history. There will be tours of the grounds, giving a detailed history of a fascinating building coming back to its full use. Now the home to Dundee Gin it?s a chance to hae a bit of history in a glass.
